Mechanical rates
« on: October 06, 2006, 04:50:00 am »

I seriously suggest boosting up the growth rate of Mechanics skill. It seems to be the slowest skill to level up in the entire game. 3 years of non-stop work and my 3 Mechanics are only Novices ?

Oops, wanted to place this into suggestions forum.

I have no problem getting legendary mechanics. They get a pretty decent amount of skill for both making mechanisms and for installing traps. Of course, I also line the entire 3-wide hallway from the cliff face to the cave river with traps, as well as every non-workshop non-bridge square along the river, chasm, and lava river...

I think you're lying. It took my non-adjective Mechanic 2 whole years to link a lever to a cage.

I'm trying to link a lever to a drawbridge right now, and it's been several seasons so far with Novice mechanics.  I'm not sure if they keep getting peckish and wandering off before they're done or what, but they've made at least three efforts so far.

And I think you should be a bit more carefull with that kind of accusations. Zurai is talking about installing traps, you about linking something  to levers, two completly different things. Even without specifically looking out for it, I seem to remeber that installing traps is indeed significantly less time conmsuming than trying to get a lever working.
