Not with the economy, a badly made meal can still cost quite alot, but a high quality can cause a man to go bankrupt for a single meal.

Huh.  I haven't had problems with this before.  Usually, the nobels will set the price for roasts or something to around 50%, which makes them more affordable, and most of the dwarves can afford to eat pretty easy.  I'm having more of a problem keeping room rents down than meals cheap.
