Ugh... that whole page is wrong.  It looks like someone copied all the 40d info into the DF2010 namespace without verifying it.

Edit: or maybe they found nobles listed in a raw file and dumped them onto the wiki even if those nobles never show up.  Like the Dungeon Master.

It's more likely that positions with [MENIAL_WORK_EXEMPTION] doing normal work (and permitting you to assign labors to them) is a bug - enjoy it while you can.

>:( Mining is NOT menial work!  >:( It is why they are dwarves, and not elves or goblins! Any noble dwarf unwilling to mine is an elf or goblin in disguise, and should be executed immediately, for the good of the clan and the mountain home!

What is this, a therapy session? We don't need to console someone because they're upset about a fucking video game. Grow a beard, son, and take off those elf ears!

I agree.  Dwarves respecting leaders who won't either mine or fight just doesn't seem right to me.  Ones who don't, I'm fine with; a Cheese Making Mayor is someone I can get along with.  But if s/he ain't willing to pick up a pick or an axe...  How'd s/he even rise to power?

And when you build your fortress walls from the bones of skeletal elephants, slain my weapons forged from melted goblin plunder, fed on cattle that graze on grass that blinks.  Then, you will know dwarfdom.

Would be very nice to have [PERMITTED_POSITION_JOB:<whatever>] in the noble entries, plus a 'restricted job' option if all you want to do is stop them from doing something that goes against the nature of the position. That's not really a problem with dwarven positions as they are, but having the option would allow for more flavoursome nobles.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.
