[38a] Water Pool Temple; engraved 'Granite'
« on: February 06, 2008, 04:10:00 am »

I found several temples (Awsome^2). I ended one Adv. mode game by B.A.S.E. jumping into the underground pool from the surface. I noticed two things that may be bugs.

1- minor: water pool temple was surrounded by what seemed to be random chunks of floor and pillars. They where all in a square around the ground-level floor, but not in a direct line, more like scattered standing and buried stones or rubble, so I'm not worried.

2- ?: In annother temple, I found "engraved Granite floor" "engraved Granite wall" and "engraved Granite" The just granite one was passable, so it may be a paved-over boulder, or it may be a resurfacing of the "here is a large" bug.

I did a quick search for Temple Floors, didn't see anything.

For 1, you might have been seeing uneven pillars.  They aren't common in normal temples, but religions of chaos prefer them.

For 2, I'm not sure.  I think they have to smooth boulders to floors first, so they might be slapping a detail on to a non-smooth surface, which would be bad.  I could just be forgetting something again, but the presentation could afford to be more clear if that's the case.

This bug report looks vaguely related to mine so I'll post this here: All of the floors of this ex-goblin fortress are just called "Obsidian". I detailed a few of them which changed the name to "Detailed Obsidian". The walls have a normal name.

In Fortress mode you can smooth a boulder and then engrave it, resulting in simply "Detailed [stone name here, in my case Felsite]".  Related?

The stone name without the floor is correct.  I couldn't get it to reproduce with just floor and closed this report.  It can say "cavern floor" afterward if it is underground.
