Im running 31.19 with mayday's tileset for 31.18, converted to .19 with all the raws and stuff.
I get an option to make them in the uild menu, but I cant make them at a mason, craftdwarf, or carpenters workshop.

They aren't made at a mason or carpenter's workshop.

You can make them at a craftdwarf's:

Rock - > Nestbox/hive
Wood -> Nestbox/hive

You can make them at a metalsmith's under "other objects" or at a kiln.

Make rock Mug
Make rock Instrument

Are you sure that you use version 0.31.19 (and not <= 0.31.18)?
And if you are sure that you use .19, did you create a new game or did you use a save from an earlier version?

Im using .19, even the starting menu says it, and its a new game, not from .18 .

I think you have to regen the world for new reactions to show up.

Do you have natural hives (bees or bumblebees) on your map?
And do you have any tame egg laying animals in yoiur possession?

Perhaps the option to build them isnīt visible if there are no animals to use the hives/nestboxes.

Updating the files in raw/objects will not permit you to make nest boxes in worlds generated in versions prior to 0.31.19 (it doesn't matter when you embarked), and updating the region-specific raws will simply break the saved games entirely.

Earlier in this game, the first nest box made was carted to the food stockpile () and was unusable. The second and third worked fine.

In the map before that, the first nest box got carted to furniture/finished goods (whichever one it doesn't go into, I always get the two mixed up) and was useless as well. Later ones worked fine.

So basically try making more then one if there's an issue with that.

EDIT: They appear to have moved the nest box out of the food stockpile and it's usable now.
