Justice system imprisoning innocents
« on: March 13, 2007, 11:53:00 am »

In my latest fortress I had a fey jeweler, who'd been locked up for violating a production order. Figuring that maybe I could get him out in time to do his stuff if I messed about with the prison, I proceeded to do so. The cage he was in was de-justiced.

Of course, it isn't that easy, and no one would let him out. Re-justicing the cage reset his sentence, and he appears to be in there for good now.

What's more odd though, is that a previously imprisoned chap, one of my carpenters, was dragged to the cages while they had justice off, and is now similarly displaying a blank sentence.

I'll handle all of these when I can.

Are you serious? He literally bit the head, and tore it off? And it got lodged in his mouth, like arrows do?

I believe I read somewhere that if you order the chain to be removed, it will not only free the imprisoned dwarf but trick them into having a happy thought about being freed. Of course, the Sheriff will throw them back in jail until they complete their sentence...
