[38c] adventure-mode ugly walls
« on: March 14, 2008, 06:11:00 pm »

Minor nit:

Walking through a goblin fort, if a wall has width 2, then upon seeing the wall from the right side, you get T intersections even though the wall as seen from the left side is still straight.  Going back to redisplay the left side fixes the issue.  Given that once you've seen that the wall has width 2, you can infer that the two sides of the wall connect, this is basically just a minor display glitch.

I think I've seen this though I can't be sure.  I remember it was messing up the smoothed wall display in a goblin tower.  I'll write it down if I haven't already.

I can confirm this - it happens with any sort of smoothed wall.  Remembered smoothed walls aren't updated when a new adjacent wall is discovered.

Yep, I've seen it too.  A minor grievance, but those are the ones that most trouble me.

EDIT:  Doctor Spellgood, Doctor Spellgood, emergency room number five...

This bug is listed as fixed in 39a:

# 000805 ▪ (0.28.181.39a) [adventure mode][display]   detailed walls sometimes display connections when they shouldn't

However, in 40d11, I'm still seeing some similar effects in some dwarven mountain halls:

It's also very easy to observe when walking through an apartment building in a human town.
