Cyber world and the Meat world
« on: February 07, 2011, 04:50:10 am »

after watching the matrix last night and after several games of Dystopia i have really been craving more game where it takes place in either a cyber world, or in both the Meat and cyber world, and im just wondering if anyone has come across any more of this sort of game ?.

cause it does seem cool like being in the cyber world and the hacking turrets or doors and other stuff to help your team mates :D

Shadowrun for the SNES, might be too old school, but damn the cyberspace game was fun:

Dystopia would work if you're looking for a multiplayer FPS. It's always fun to surprise your opponent by hacking the turret they're standing under (too bad you can't control the turrets since they're automated)

ahh cyber punk my favourite genre (or one of em anyways)

system shock 1 & 2 and Deus X are the most infamous cyberpunk games, theres quite a few old dos games like circuits edge, neuromancer etc too.

Tron 2 was alright, and theres a new tron game out to coinside with the film that i know nothing about, and the original tron (i think it was an atari game)

I haven't been able to get any vomit this release. Not any I can pick up, at any rate.
Swans, too. Swans are complete bastards.

I dunno - Tron's really not what I'd call cyberpunk.

I've always though of (x)punk to have an overarching theme - dystopia. Shadowrun, for instance, is cyberpunk fantasy set in a mildly dystopic near-future Earth.

Personally, I'd love to find a cyberpunk a la Shadowrun MMORPG or soemthing - my friends and I play the tabletop game, but I just can't get enough of the genre.

So does anyone know of a Shadowrun-esque MMORPG? Preferably anything other than the one that got closed down/

Subversion should be coming out pretty soon, and IIRC it has cyber and meat elements.
