I have a fort that crashes after playing for about two minutes. The game freezes up and the window goes to "(not responding)." The game stays frozen and doesn't unfreeze even after waiting a while. The freezes started at the start of the second winter but they only lasted 30 seconds or so. The rest of the year went fine until autumn when the game started freezing again for about 30 seconds again. Again it didn't happen too often. Recently, however, the game started to freeze every 5-10 minutes for about a minute until it started to freeze permanently. Now whenever I start up the fortress it permanently freezes after about 2 minutes of play. Is this happening to anyone else? or does anyone have any suggestions to fix it? I've tried doing everything I can think of.

Had this happen to 2 of my forts so far, both of them I built a well in shortly before the crash, I believe that may have caused it, though I am not sure as I have not started a new Fortress yet.

Yes I did start building a well but there were a few permanent freezes even before I started building it, maybe I'll just start a new fort and see if the freezes happen again.

I'm getting these freezes as well.  Frustrating as hell.  I'm not really noticing a pattern, aside from they happened during late summer of my second year.  Haven't been crashing yet.  This is my second fortress, the first didn't have this problem.

Another fortress of mine is now doing this. I believe my fortress is 4 years old now almost 5 but I can't play the game for 10 seconds without it freezing up. These freezes don't appear to be permanent though. The game seems to run fine when its paused too. I have been sieged multiple times by the goblins and just killed a hydra so maybe thats whats causing the freezes. I'm running the most current version by the way. Also the game runs at a good 60 FPS when its not frozen.

I get the really lengthy freezes, but it has always come out of them.

I have never had an attack other than 1 or 2 of the kobolds showing up (thieves).  This started before them, tho.

It is definitely getting worse the older the fort is.

I have never built a well (knowing about the bug).
