fmodex.dll

I keep receiving the following message whenever I try to run Dwarf Fortress.exe and install the game:

"This application has failed to start because fmodex.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

What is fmodex.dll and where can I get it?

Should be just in the first folder right by the Dwarf Fortress.exe. I would just re-download the game, it should come with it.

Are you, by chance, trying to run Dwarf Fortress.exe from inside the archive without unzipping it?
