Siege Operators load catapults with the farthest stone
« on: November 06, 2007, 02:01:00 am »

Subject says all. I have 4 catapults in the front of my fortress constantly spamming stones. Problem is, all 4 of my siege operators are loading the pults with the farthest stone. They go from outside, to the back of the fortress, down a mine shaft to the lowest z-level and to the back of another long corridor, just to grab a rock that's the same as all the others.

What gives?

dwarves don't count pathfinding for job items properly - they see it is 15 z-levels directly below them and think 'oh! 15 spaces away!' even though they have to move 12875689056589 spaces to get it.

Ahhhhhh, I see. That makes sense, it does wrap around right under the catapults. Time for some stairs, I guess...
