That LD4all site seems like a load of bullcrap. Not any bit more reliable then all lucid dreaming threads on /x/

Yeah, there's quite a bit of mystical stuff and pseudoscience people on their forums, but the stuff on their LD guide does work, with enough effort/practice. Doesn't work for everyone of course. Personally, I use a modified version of WBTB, when I remember to anyways. :P

I've personally hung around dreamviews, just for the reason they have less pseudoscience

Now they've had an influx of newbs though, so "INCEPTION METHOD OF LDING WORKS" threads are more common then I'd like

I used to be able to dream lucidly, but I seem to have lost the ability. I keep hoping that I'll get it back, becuase even though I can't remember most of my dreams, I do remember that it's amazingly fun to dream lucidly. I don't know how I even started dreaming like that.

I've heard from a friend that if you say "I can control my dreams" before you go to bed, you can, but I've tried that numerous times without success.

I had a short lived one recently when I was using my laptop in a library and it kept popping up porn. when taking the battery out didn't turn it off, it hit me. I still can't manage to stay in it, though.

It is mostly because often we take a passive nature in dreams. I've noticed I was dreaming quite a few times and could have took the reins but simply chose not to (in fact I chose not to even dream most of the time).

Dreams are ultimately reactionary which is why it is often difficult to lucid dream. Yes even while Lucid Dreaming it is still rather reactionary.

People who lucid dream during nightmares for example usually find that it makes things worse (60% of the time) because you still feel the dream and can be swept away with it.

First time I ever tried I got one.
Since then I havn't ben able to, theres a few times I had it but I was too excited and I just woke up :/

First time I pinched my finger in the dream, realised I didn't feel it. And then realised I was dreaming.
Needless to say I tripped balls. I ended up flying around as a dragon, getting laid, and playing LoTR tower defense all in the space of one hour dreaming.
It was awesome. :D

the last lucid dream i had i conjured up a device that c ould do anything i wanted it to do. i then held onto it as tight as i could in an attempt to bring it into reality, i woke up in my bed with it in my hands and was convinced that i broke reality until the moment i set it down. then i woke up again(for real) and it had vanished. i a had a lucid dream within a dream.

I had my first (and only) lucid dream about a month or 2 ago. The dream (where I wasn't lucid) lasted pretty long, and then, I don't know, it just felt like something was wrong, so I did a reality check (held my nose and tried to breath through it) and it worked. It's honestly the most surprised I've ever been, and at that point, the storyline of the dream just kind of vanished. The people there continued to do their thing and the world went on. So I decided to go for a walk. I saw a few people, none of which I knew, until someone called out to me, and it was someone I knew, although my brain had decided to make her insanely attractive :P so I ran over to her and tried to... ya know ;D and at that point everything became disproportionate and weird, then I woke up. Pretty cool experience :D

Has anyone noted any 'dream signs' if you keep a journal? I can usually remember a lot of my dreams, but usually not straight after, usually several hours later. Something sets off my remembrance of them, and I can never work out what it is :P

Edit:
Has anyone had any DF dreams? I had one, but it wasn't lucid. I was standing in the middle of a wide open space with a small team, and we had to rescue some nobles, but while doing so, a bunch of termite people started chasing us, and then it became really un-dwarfy :(

I had this weird rear end dream today.  Like people were getting injured because ridiculous combat was happening at my school.  I had to heal people up in a variety of minigames that made no sense.  Granted this wasn't a lucid dream, but I don't see a normal dreaming thread anywhere.  I also vaguely remember some person not from our world but it's really fuzzy.

I lucid dreamed last night, but like all my lucid dreams, my subconscious was an ass and was all 'nya nya nya, you're dreaming, but you can't do shit'

what a dick.

Sing, sounds like one I have that has happened several times. Combines DF and Command and Conquer. The dwarves dig out a area, then I have to decide whether to build a offense, or a defense. The foe never shows, but the dwarves explore to try to find it. Which is actually nice, since it is in color. Not as good as the dream where Wonder Woman is fighting the plant monster, wearing a bikini, but its still odd

I had a fucked up dream last night. Not lucid,  but whatever. I was at my mom's and this creepy, male crackhead version of my mom was peering into the house and looking around through a window. Then he would SPRINT to another one and do the same. And if you made eye contact he would just keep scanning, in a sort of blind way. And we tried to call 911 and it didn't work and then he kept doing his thing and I woke up.
