Giving militia breaks?
« on: January 15, 2011, 05:50:34 am »

How would I give a military squad a break, without changing alerts every once in a while?

Giving no scheduled order just makes them train.

Set them to return to civilian status?
Is that your question to give them a break?

Or.. undesignate all your barracks. So, not only disallow the squad from it, but (q)>>(f)ree up the barracks.

So there's no fast way you can with use a schedule, no need to check back to alerts or barracks every few months?

I want people to stop being annoyed with long duty thing.

You dont need to set the alerts to make them go inactive...just change the schedule...

Here is my Active/Training....

Here is my Inactive (too switch back in forth use the "/" key when on the schedule screen....

Alerts can be used as well, but I only use them for putting all my civis in a safe burrow. If I want a squad to go somewhere I just move it there or tell it to attack a monster.

Sorry also forgot to mention that my squads are rarely on Active schedule because I hardly ever put them on Active via ALERTS. They almost always are using the Inactive schedule.

If you look at the Inactive schedule it shows times when they are Training and times when they have No Scheduled Order (time off)

Two of the squads alternate with a third squad. In reality the 3 squads are almost always in the barracks training anyway, because that's what the do in the downtime because they have no other labor enabled.

I also make sure that they are set to Uniformed at all times and I have no problems.

Training while not actively ordered to train counts as a break.

Dagger, under the inactive schedule, does having them train alternating months entail demonstrations, and sparring?
