Finding my mark (adventure mode)

I can't seem to find my mark in this camp I've been searching through the camp for about 10 minutes now and I've gotten his aggression message but still haven't found him, I've killed everyone else I've seen albeit I've been sneaking-I cannot find him. Is this a bug or something because this thing has happened to me before where I couldn't find a bandit/outlaw in a camp.

Always kill the leader first, otherwise he might run away if he's injured, or possibly even if his minions die.
