[LAVA] token?
« on: March 23, 2011, 04:58:01 pm »

What sort of abuse can this suffer?  I've heard of someone casting soil walls by moving this token around.  Could I, for example, cast adamantine walls?  Or slade?  What about something stranger, like casting trees?

According to the wiki, the first substance with the [LAVA] tag is formed when you mix water and lava... in vanilla's case it's Obsidian, but moving the tag to something else would cause that to fall out of the mix instead.

I tried adding [LAVA] to all the igneous rocks, but it didn't work as I had intended.

Casting? I searched both "cast" and "casting" on the wiki and only got information about the medical sort. By using casting as a verb do you mean to make a cast?

Casting as in Obsidian casting... look up "obsidian farming" or the "magma" entry on the wiki.

In the use of "casting a mold" as in "throwing magma into a shaped chamber, then water, and casting obsidian in that shape."  People cast obsidian, and cool people cast obsidian towers, but I'm going to try casting trees ._.

Cast an Elf Tree. Or maybe just cast an Elf.

That didn't last long, huh? Shame, cause binary's cool. Anyway, an important message: I will be changing my names on every username based thing I use to ASCIt on/around 10/1. Consolidating, I guess you could say.

Yesss!

Well I doubt that will work with non-organics, but it yeah its sure to work for other stones, and perhaps other inorganics.

It probably requires the [IS_STONE] token to work.

Actually, I'm not sure that would be any better. Stone booze, anyone?

Something tells me that would go horribly horribly wrong.

No, you see, if it's stone, then that means that the dwarves are drinking melted stone. Which is, of course, magma. I would be okay with my dwarves drinking magma.

I heard someone made a mine-able meat somewhere...  If you attach the animal booze template and make it distilable, I suppose you could have stone brew.

Hmm, does that mean we could be seeing the Smaltsberg Fat mines of Uberwald showing up?

The [LAVA] token is only permitted on INORGANIC material definitions, so you can't use it on anything that's part of a plant (e.g. booze) or creature (e.g. blood).

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
