mandates for bismuth items
« on: December 15, 2007, 09:19:00 pm »

Well I got one a little while ago in a throwaway test game. I have never seen bismuth before but according to the wiki its not possible to make items out of it. The only reason to have it around is to make bronze with it.

So are bismuth mandates actually for bronze or are they a mandate that can not be filled and thus a bug?

Make something out of the bismuth, specifically bismuth bronze, it satisfies the mandate.

Ah thanks Torak.

It should still be changed though, to make it more clear.

I had this one, and eventually figured out what had to be done, but not before making some bismuthinite mugs and putting a bismuth bar floor in the mayor's room.  Next fort I'm going to find a dwarf who likes iron or copper or something and make him the leader.

Bismuth is the worst metal in the game. It marginally increases the value of bronze, but is not needed for ordinary bronze, and is otherwise completely useless. I hate it, but it's everywhere. Just like Alunite. God I hate Alunite.

As for your problem, just smelting <ore> counts as making an <ore> item(because you're making a bar, which is an item amirite?).
