Baron/Count/Etc dead

when my baron was first appointed, he died very soon afterwords. (i've been playing on and off for the last couple of months, so i dont remember exactly how or how soon, but i do remember it was in the same season at least.)

i have since been 'promoted' to count, yet i still have but a mayor.

no nobles for me?
