Dwarfiest movie ever
« on: December 31, 2010, 09:54:40 am »

Some time ago I watched a movie titled "Beneath Hill 60", and 90% of the time while I was watching it I was thinking about Dwarf Fortress, and tried to connect the movie and DF as much as possible in my mind. The events of the movie take place during WW1 and it's about Australian soldiers who dig tunnels beneath German positions.

What's the dwarfiest movie you've ever watched?

Undwarfiest cartoon short ever: that old cartoon where those Dwarves Dwelves are working in this underground workshop to help create spring. *shudder* Dwarves should be burning down forests with floods of magma, not bringing forests back to life! >:(

Think of it like Sim City, except with rival mayors that seek to destroy your citizens by arming legions of homeless people and sending them to attack you.

Continuity: The scene where Jim Sneddon is buried by his mates, the grave site, the soil from it, as well as the entire surrounding area, is completely dry despite the depiction of consistent drenching rain for days on end.
No muddy ground. Dwarfness ruined.

This was posted here a long time ago, but I still like it.

Just pretend it's a dwarf that embarked on a human town, or a dwarf adventurer.

Rain doesn't cause muddy ground.

Rain doesn't cause muddy ground.
It does in WWI movies.

But not in Dworf.

It isn't a new Dwarf Fortress version until we're made to fear some kind of regular creature.  Carp, Elephants, Unicorns, Badgers, and now Mosquitos.  I've got 5 dorfBucks on the next one being plagues of groundhogs.

aguirre the wrath of god?

It's less about a small group of mentally unhinged folks digging in the ground to find great riches and more about a small group of mentally unhinged folks sailing a dangerous river to find great riches.
