rock crafts material choosing
« on: December 30, 2010, 06:28:10 am »

This is somethign that really pisses me off. My dining rooms etc. look like damn circus with different colours of tables and chairs. I know this problem can be solved with placing stockpiles correctly, but its complex not really worth effort.
Couldn't different rock materials be chosen like metals in the manager menu so you could order rock stuff in same material?

EDIT: Oh damn. forget about it! i noticed that similar thread was made recently

See the vast number of threads on the subject. Truthfully the search function is a little off-putting, but do feel free to vote for it in eternal suggestions.

Yeah, this is a pretty big suggestion a lot of people want. I'd really to see this one tackled during the bug-fixing push; it shouldn't be that hard, considering it already works with metals.

I use the (z) stockpile stone screen to turn all rock but what I want to make crafts off into economic stone so they only have one choice.

My inelegant solution was to place my quantum stone stockpile between my craftsdwarf and mason workshops. Then you mass forbid (d-b-f) the whole stockpile and use the Stocks screen in the z-menu to unforbid the desired material.
