one thnx all its really helped i suppose, because i just f***ed up 3 elephants with extreme precision.

now,
to Twilightdusk: I know.
to Scriver: I have my schedule set for training (demos and drills) every other month, and then all three squads convene 3 times a year to train against eachother in sparring.

so basically half train have indiv. drilling and occasional sparring

also, i just thought about this, will having high quality weapons and armor make dwarves happier?

My militia trains outside, through rain and snow, and they stay happy.  "Had a satisfying sparring session recently" is a common thought for them.  I have them in squads of three, so they're always either leading/watching a demo or sparring.  For non-danger room forts, squads of 3 (2 max active) are awesome.

Oh sure, because being pampered and given cushy training quarters inside is a lot less elf-like than training with no amenities in harsh weather...

If a soldier can't follow orders, it's cause the target disappeared or something
