So, my first caravan of this embark. I hadn't quite prepared an area for a trade depot yet, so I just constructed one outside of my fort, which the traders arrived and unloaded at. After trading, which was uneventful, the merchants announced their leave, and I promptly deconstructed the trade depot, as it was in the way.
However, it was deconstructed before they finished packing, and most of the stuff was left behind.
Wtf happened, and will they be uber pissed next year?

Next year, deconstruct it as soon as they unload. then you get Everything.

Note that while stealing like this wont piss off the traders themselves, the civ only pays attention to how much the caravan returns with. So the civ will care about this kind of theft and you risk pissing them off if you exploit this too much.

Depends on the race you are going this exploit on . If its elves.... Full steam ahead I'd say. Better still , construct your depot out of wood!
