Burns night
« on: January 22, 2011, 07:04:22 pm »

Burns night is coming up soon (the 25th). Anybody else here celebrating it?

Also, it recently discovered that the US has banned haggis due to its content of sheep lung - how do all you yanks have your burns night dinner without it?

Never heard of such an occasion before now.  Never had haggis either... Burns was really that important?  Just a poet of all things?

We don't. I've never heard of anyone in the US celebrating it, actually.

I wish we celebrated poets in the US. But unless there's a poet who's also a demolitions expert I doubt it will happen.

You don't use freedom Penguin. First you demand it, then you have it.
No using. That's not what freedom is for.

Some animals can carry proteinacious diseases, I believe sheep can carry Scrapie, and traces of the disease/particle have been found in the lungs and other organs besides the brain.
