just had a batman come out of the chasm and kill my kitty cat (the meanie).  then he escaped back into the chasm and made his getaway.  i was fascinated as i tracked him to the edge of the visible chasm and then he continued to move through the underworld in that big, black area with random symbols that means unmined cave.  the "b" symbol of the batman was visible the entire time, even though that area of the mountain hadn't been explored yet and the chasm itself wasn't visible.  is this supposed to happen?

This Batman also molested one of the dwarves in my fortress and escaped into the chasm. I was able to follow his path using some sort of dwarven radar. This witchery was no doubt developed by The Philosopher, who will be drowned immediately.

It might be the same issue that makes webs appear in hidden squares sometimes.
