Customize the Gnolan to be Dwarfs.

Silicoids live off rocks and fungii, it doesnt get anymore dwarven than that.

Since gnolams look slightly more like dwarfs than any other race I went with them.

I, Nirreln, have just been crowned king of all the dwarven people. My first act as king was to change the name of our star system, someone thought Gnol was a perfectly acceptable name.

This is a much better name I think. Also note to self, find out who though Gnol was a good name for a star and have them executed.

On to more important matters I had a meeting with my science advisers to assess the readiness of the dwarven people to begin my ultimate goal of dominating the universe.

Needless to say, I was not pleased with the state of things. All the advisers were executed for their obvious incompetence.

OOC: If you want a star system named after you post and let me know, EuchreJack our first colony will be named after you. Or if you like you can have your name on our mighty war ships, cruiser and battleship class at first then titan and doomstar classes once those techs are researched.

Are you demolith?  Because that would be pretty dwarfy.  Elect your mayors and kings and eat pretty much rock and fungi.  Meanwhile you have the biggest technology advantage possible.
