So, i have been having no snatchers/thiefs lately and ive trained upa militray hoping for a battle, however, noone seems to be coming, have they given up on stealing from me? or do i just need to wait?

a few things could be happening

you could have too low of any army (I think 40 is need to for ambushes 80 for siege)
you could not be producing a lot of stuff (you could suck at the df economy)
you could of recently killed the leader of a faction (they wont attack for a while)
you could of planted a fortress in an area with no access other civs (likely)
