I always make sure to check what the mountainhomes are demanding, be it weapons, armour, crafts... and then make stone mugs anyway.
My current fortress has more ruby than I know what to do with, so I get my legendary gem setter to stick it all on -granite mug-'s and sell it for a fortune.  Star ruby stays at home though!

I also can't wait for this next update, it'll really kick some life back into the game when I take out my ruby encrusted stone mugs and they say "hmm, well you've sold so many of those mugs people have started using them as impromptu roofing tiles, so for your 47 crates of the damn things we offer you... 16 chicken eggs!"

Darn rubys, SELL THEM ALL! Saphires are the only titanium dioxide gemstone!

I also use prepared meals.
A good stack of roasts can go up to three thousand dorfbucks.

You left off at least one zero. I had a stack of quarry bush leaves roasts go for over ☼90,000 recently. I didn't grab a screen shot or check the ingredients, but it was probably stuff like dwarven syrup and dwarven flour.

Green glass large serrated discs.

I'm mass-producing them for my evil entry bridge anyway, trading off one or two bins for some supplies doesn't mean much.

(Evil entry bridge = two strips of constructed floor over volcano opening, alternating with three strips of green glass grates all linked to one lever in my meeting hall. If a goblin wants to get in my fort it has to face at least 960 attacks without either taking a fatal headshot or dodging the wrong way.)

Experimentation has found that making enemies face large numbers of glass serrated discs is a bad idea... as if any of them get through, they will be legendary armor/shield users, as even clothes will typically deflect it.

However, using just a few in a long, narrow hallway with 30z level drops to either side... yes, that has been shown to be very effective.

So there's that, as well. It looks like the only chronic problems that water can't cure are nausea and cave spider bites.
Which, coincidentally enough, can be cured by magma.

Oddly enough, they managed to break the hands and wrists of all the trolls that were busily removing the grates during the last siege. Also the trolls collapsed from over-exertion, I assume from dodging or deflecting hundreds of attacks within a few moments.

My forts always died FPS deaths because it was exporting frikkin everything EXCEPT stone crafts (and raw materials).

Electrum mahjong sets studded with common gems? Check.
Pizza made with Rhesus Macaque tallow, Horse cheese (which I milked myself) and big mushrooms? Check.
Clear Glass drum-sets? Check.
Dyed clothes? Check.

My forts had industry focus and I mod in alternate names for various craft products.

Probably tastes exotic.

metal crafts, silver trap components, and totems.  If I wanted I could export more clothes as well.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

I'd imagine so, unlike the Racoon Brain, Cave Wheat, Underground Cucumber, Donkey Intestine cake. Yes, my modded dwarves make cake instead of roasts and I have cucumber beer being made over the winter.

dyed cloth and textiles.

seriously, I have ONE above ground farm plot (admittedly quite large) for growing rope reeds, and a few below ground for growing all sorts, from dye plants to food (not that I need it). Most of my exported stuff is 'Midnight blue with Dimple Cup dye'.
and the cloth itself tends to be exceptional, but often masterwork (legendary weaver ftw?).
I modded in a violet dye as I like seeing purple as well as blue on my dyed items. I then modded Hideroot dye to have the same value as all the other dyes so I can have my red items and still get them priced the same as my green, blue, purple and black items.
