can't see profile of mother

A mother with baby just created an artifact after by a strange mood.

But I can't see the mother's profile when I hit [u], scroll to her name, and hit [enter]. The baby's profile appears instead.

Same thing when I try to access the mother from the Jobs menu [u]
How can I navigate to see the mother? Is it a question of hitting [u] when the mother icon is showing, versus the baby's icon or the carried item icon?

Press 'v' to cycle through the units on the tile. I think the baby is just the first creature on the tile, you'll see this when dwarves pile up in hallways too.

It's actually an artifact baby. Just wait until he grows up, you'll see.
