Stockpile held barrels arn't released to brewery
« on: December 04, 2006, 10:50:00 pm »

When a job is assigned to the brewery to brew a drink, the game will fail to look for empty barrels which are in and owned by (custom) stockpiles assigned to storing booze. [The same is also true for stockpiles which own a empty barrel, and are set to store dwarven syrup; the farmers workshop fails to check current stockpiles for empty barrels, which have settings equal to the object being made /refined.]

[Crap -- game version is 22.110.23c, so this may have been fixed already.]

think that's intentional in a general sense (though seeing as you can't carry booze/etc in nothing and transfer to barrel later.....)

try setting reserved barrels to something

The stockpiles DO have reserved barrels.

It's that they arn't being recognized as both empty and available by the brewery and farmers workshop, thus, even though they may be empty, they can't be used.

Yeah, these aren't reserved barrels, but for the purposes of this specific job, it would be best if they were treated as such -- however, if you have a general purpose food pile, you wouldn't want them to be used for brewing (you'd want the reserves in the furniture pile to be used for that).  Drink piles probably shouldn't ask for empty barrels in the first place.
