"Free" pick from 0,0 isn't free, it's stolen
« on: December 01, 2006, 06:32:00 pm »

I had a "Store Weapon" job queued up for an iron pick that's in the upper left corner according to the Stocks menu.  I figured that it's the same bug as reported here, so I'd get a free iron pick.

But when the dwarf picks up the "free" pick, I get the message "Miner cancels Dig: Lost pick."

So the dwarf up in the corner somehow yanked the pick away from the Miner while he was using it to dig out a new room in the middle of the fortress.

I've got a save from a little before this happened that I can package up if you want.

This is only true some of the time.  I know I've started on maps with one axe, and ended up with two or even three before the caravan arrives - so they're not from axedwarves or trade.

I'll take a look at the save.  Maybe it'll help.

Just experienced this just now. My miner went to pick up a bronze scimetar and a bronze short sword for the trade depot....
