Shrines are well lit?!
« on: December 02, 2010, 01:37:31 am »

So. Apparently the best place to fight bogeymen at night is a temple.
You can see the entire area inside the temple, so long as there isn't a pillar in the way.

...now to survive fighting that Balor.

The winning move with Bogeymen is not to play.
Either way, running seems to work best for me.

You can run easier if you can see all of them. They start outside the temple proper, too, so if you sleep there, then you'll wake up with enough time to escape. Run in circles and you can eventually hide behind a pillar and (s)neak around 'till morning.

However, I'm finding throwing severed balor parts at them works for killing them (genesis mod - he was in the temple).

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

They melt. It's fun. I don't know if there's anything in vanilla that glitches in quite the same beautiful way. Magma Man Parts might.

Where are you even finding temples? I thought they didn't exist anymore!

Ruined Temples, ask about the surrounding areas or get a quest from a lord in castle, normally bad stuff likes to hang out at ruined temple(like BC's or titans).

Aw. Dang, you're right. Shrines. I'll fix that.
And yes, naaaasty stuff in shrines. But they often make it easy to hide. And bogeymen (through 3 nights of testing) seem to start outside the shrine proper.

If by nasty you mean the vomit titan incident? Sure. If by difficult, just bring 20 people with you, hang back, and watch the show. Titans tend to be so underpowered. (Vomit Titan = OHK) :P

Actually, I usually run solo. The Genesis mod balor is nasty if you're not a (glitched, fire immune) dwarf.
