Not all nobles immune to economy?

So what do you do when your captain of the royal guard demands a platinum statue in his bedroom, but doesn't make enough from being captain of the royal guard to pay the rent on a bedroom with a platinum statue in it?

The leader, broker, bookkeeper, and sheriff, and all their upgraded forms, should be immune to the dwarven economy. Otherwise we get impossible situations like this.

Simple. Make sure he's legendary before you recruit him to be captain. Unfortunately you have no such luxury with mayor, since he's chosen at random.
