Dwarfputing mod
« on: November 29, 2010, 11:02:14 am »

I'd like to make a mod that does two things:

-has a building that changes state based on whether or not it is receiving power
-has a more complex way to hook up two levers to something, for example, you could specify that ONLY when both levers are pulled does a gear assembly turn on, thus simulating an AND gate.

How could I do this?

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

I don't think there's a way to do either.

Experienced in half a year of DF modding.

Modded buildings cannot produce, or use power. Screwpumps and Millstones are the only buildings that can use power at present.

http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/Computing can probably tell you how to make an AND gate. I wouldn't know. My eyes glaze over after the first paragraph.

yeah, check

http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/User:Bidok

that's a list of simple animal-powered gates, and

http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/User:Gammon

has some fluid-powered gates.

There are other methods using gears and levers, but these are easier to check state visually and take up less room.  You'd still need a massive map to make a computer with 2kb of memory and processing power though
