Cloisteredwood - Story.
« on: November 21, 2010, 06:29:51 pm »

Hello All,

My 40d Fortress is now running smoothly - despite the recurring goblin attacks (though they seem to have died down for the moment) - and in a recent Migrant wave, I decided to pick out one Dwarf, and write a story that amount to his Memoires (I do hope he doesn't die). So, here's Chapter 1, in which our Hero Deler Kodorerith, arrives at the hell hole that is; Cloisteredwood.

The once dark-grey walls are now the dark brown of stained blood. At either side of the path leading to the great granite gates is covered with the corpses and skeletons of Goblin invaders.
Some are still fresh. One is still moving.
As you approach the gate a nervous guard looses a bolt in your direction. Silence... Slowly, gradually, the huge doors screech open. Inside there is a courtyard, the floor wet with blood. Welcome to the front-line. Welcome; to Cloisteredwood.

Downloading the pdf right now. Will comment it after reading.

Just a hint, but you could remove the link in the first post.

EDIT:
Finished reading the story, it looks interesting. I hope you keep posting the story, it has nice potential.

You know, they could teach maths like this at school. "There are 105 dwarves in a settlement. A goblin invasion appears and 67 die. Then a migrant wave..."

Chapter 3: The End Of Granite Tooth

Quite a short chapter describing the recent events concerning what's left of the Garrison of Granite Tooth - the tower that came under heavy attack last time.

Only problem is the FPS is falling D:

*edit*
Also our Hero is wounded after a sparring session, it's a light injury but it'll take some time to recover! Might write a bit about Dwarf medical system (It's 40d though so, not much!)
