what if you made Mini-wagon fortress? Switch the wagon sprite with let's say a bed, or a bin.

IT COULD WORK!

Give cats natural metallic armor and throw them in your danger room.  Also allow their mouth and tail to grasp (shield in mouth, weapon in tail xD)  Have a cat based military.  You know, do the same with all tame animals xD send in the cats as shock troops to disrupt the archers

Will try the miniwagons once I get a computer with DF.

If that doesn't work, I will keep the wagon civ.
Hopefully many engraving will describe wagons scuttlings, wagons becoming kings, etc.

No, it couldn't, as that's not how wagons work. We don't have any control over how a wagon looks or how many tiles it's made up of. Either it's a wagon, or it's not.

Nothing stopping anyone from making wooden creatures called "wagons", though it would be extremely silly.

I think it's a vastly amusing thought that elephants are so afraid of heights that when Dwarves invented the Z-axis, they couldn't bear to face dwarves in combat anymore.
