game stutter
« on: November 23, 2010, 02:39:27 am »

hey guys, trying to play a succession game with a bud of mine. problem is, an interesting stuttering effect i'm getting. game will freeze up for 3-10 seconds pretty frequently, rendering most of what i'm trying to do pretty futile. this never normally happens, and barring volcano/cavern related problems i run the game fine with a phenom II 3.4. to my knowledge, my friend had no such problems. neither did i for the first 45 minutes of my play-time. restarting the game has proved fruitless. i deleted the burrows, thinking that may have been the problem, and still nothing. anyone else having this problem? i'm running (to my knowledge) an unmodded .18

I got a minor version of this with version .16 - think it's the processors doing something strange, judging from the lights...

Wait, it's just a bug?

Dammit, I abandoned my Volcano Fortress! I thought 'Welp, this fortress is so big my computer can't handle it. Time to start over'!

This issue has troubled me as well... and all this time I thought it might have been incompatibility with my tileset.

Why yes, I'm one of those people.

I have the same thing. I'm not using a tileset though.
I remember that I once before had this kind of a problem. It back in 40d and I had a bunch of SoF flying around trapped in a preculiar chamber.
I got a bunch of ghosts right now, so might that be it? How are your dead?
