Anyways, on to the rest of the thread.

Where does "gravity" start? If I were to cut the adamantine spires connecting the overworld to hell, would it collapse on the demons?


NOTE: This is assuming that I have cut away all connections to the walls. (The ones that lead offmap)

I will. I need to generate a world that has no caverns and low distance between magma sea and the overworld. How do I do that with advanced world gen? (I do not know my way around it)

You want cavern-layer number to be zero and set all the 'levels above layer <1-5>:' to be as low as possible.

5 is the minimum. Its still like 20 layers to dig through.
