Depot access displayed in dark, unmined areas
« on: June 19, 2008, 03:33:50 am »

When I press shift+d to display caravan accessible tiles, I can see huge squares of red inaccessible space in places I have not yet excavated. These show up in areas in which I'm expecting to find new subterrean features; cave rivers, chasms and such.
A screenshot:

Running v0.27.176.38c on Ubuntu linux with wine, in case that matters.

On a second look, I don't think there's a correlation with hidden features and No Wagon Access. Those blinking red areas are everywhere.

Actually, I believe I have noticed the same thing.  It seemed as though depot access would show up on all tiles that had been allocated, whether they were visible or not.  Hidden site features apparently are always allocated from the beginning, but many underground layers are not.  (This is why, when using the reveal tool, you have to select the entire bottom layer, so that everything becomes allocated.)

Personally, though it's minor, I'd like to see depot access only show up on visible tiles, but that's just a suggestion, not a bug report.

I'm not having this problem.  Did you guys use reveal or a similar utility?

edit:  Ah, I think I'm seeing them, but not in allocated hidden areas.  It's only happening in the deep unallocated areas, unless I reveal the map, at which point it happens everywhere.
