Diplomat arrives and immediately leaves

Immediately after getting the screen, "A human diplomat has arrived!" I get the screen, "A diplomat has left unhappy." A few seconds after a siege occurred, could this be the cause?

I dunno if the seige is related, but if you don't have a mayor, or if the mayor is unreachable, the diplomat gets irritated and leaves.

This happens to me when I flood the ground with magma and hide underground.

Ah, it must be because my mayor is captain of the guard and not technically called "mayor." Now he's trying to conduct a meeting even though the diplomat left and my fps has dropped to 3.
