Things slither from the underworld?

So today I was playing adv. mode and was offered an interesting quest:


When I arrived, it was a normal night monster den, except a blood man was there.  He was pretty easy to destroy too, of course. ANyway, I thought it was cool that nasties from the underworld were coming to the surface to terrorize people.  I wonder if forgotten beasts do this too?  (besides the thing with them taking over civs, I mean)

Has anyone seen more of this kind of thing?

This BTW was a custom params world full of deserts and stuff.

Yeah, random creatures from the underworld will also occasionally populate lairs.

I don't think you can get there without mining.  I took an adventurer into a cave and found a cavern however.  Unfortunately she had to retire after a rat damaged her foot so badly she lost the ability to stand up.  :/


Also I found that this kind of quest happens around places where there is a natural cave leading to the underworld.  You can use this as a way to search for caves.  Pretty cool.

that or find a demon fort and pull a adamantine weapon out of the floor.

As I wrote elsewhere, I had a lizard fiend from the underworld in a position of Law Giver of Luxurious Kingdoms. He created about 70 noble positions during his 1000 years in office.

Thanks my goal is now to create a peasant character and set tag his profession as Explorer, and seek for the underworld!
