Body size?
« on: November 14, 2010, 10:44:13 pm »

I searched the wiki and it doesn't tell how the body size tag works. Can anyone explain it?

[BODY_SIZE:x:y:z]

When the creature is x years and y days old, it will have a body size of z.

If it has multiple body size tags, for example:

[BODY_SIZE:0:0:3000]
[BODY_SIZE:1:168:15000]
[BODY_SIZE:12:0:60000]

Then it will start with a size of 3000, grow to a size of 15000 at a year and a half (28 days per months and 12 months, so 336 days in a DF year), and then gradually grow to a size of 60000 at twelve years.

I think the size numbers are in cubic centimeters; the last number is how big the creature reaches at adulthood, so you can look at various creatures to get a sense of what numbers are appropriate. The numbers in the body size tags are the "base" numbers, and individual creatures can vary in size based on the BODY_APPEARANCE_MODIFIER tags.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.
