Whenever I try to load my save, the game crashes. I dug out my 20-minute-old backup, and it causes a crash as well - even though it was perfectly load-able 19 minutes ago!

What causes this horrible complication?  :'(

This is in no way relevant, but I've started a new game, and this is the name of the place I started out in.
