is there a way to make it so that dwarves give birth to adult dwarves.

i kind of want to skip the baby and child stage altogether.

Animals don't have [BABY:n] so you could possibly just delete that one.  I don't know if simply deleting [CHILD:n] would work as well, or if you'd set it to 0 or what.

You should have at least CHILD:1, but you can remove BABY alltogether.

so the closest i can get is 1 year as a child?

ive heard that removing the child tag stops your dwarves from reproducing or something like that before.

Creatures with no [CHILD] token don't reproduce.  You can remove the [BABY] tag and they'll give birth to children directly, but you can't get rid of [CHILD].  The shortest time the child stage can take place is 1 year (I don't think it works if you put in [CHILD:0]) so the best you can do is put in [CHILD:1] and have a 1 year childhood stage.
