Urist McFurnaceoperator cancels Make steel bars: Needs 150 iron bars

I see this spammed in my fortress CONSTANTLY to my great annoyance. I have like 10 pig iron bars in my stock, I have flux rock. Why does this error keep appearing? It is driving me insane.

to elaborate, the make steel reaction requires 1 pig iron bar, one iron bar, one fuel bar, and one flux stone (and another fuel bar or !!magma!!)

you are missing one of these things, and DF is letting you know what you are missing.

It's just numbers. 150 iron bars counts as one 'visible' bar, in the same way one stack of cloth is actually made of 15000 cloth. It's so sutures and goblets work out properly.
