Why won't the game fill the screen?

Can anyone explain why when I start DF in windowed or fullscreen it only fills the top left corner of the screen and the rest is black? I have played with settings in the init file and can't seem to solve this issue.

I played DF in the past and didn't have this problem it's very annoying.

Tried rolling your mousewheel back/forward?  Also, have you gone into dwarf or adventure mode to see if the screen is being used there?

Hyfrydle, it sounds like you need to "zoom" your screen with the mousewheel. I have the same issue. But a simple spin of the mousewheel restores DF to full screen for me when I start it up.
