Goonka, you say you've found a good one. Could you share? I have the same damn problem - 1024 screen. I'm using Phoebus set, which is probably the best one, but all the tiles are downscaled and look a bit crappy. (
I compared it with 1280 (I can set that resolution at 60hz - kiss your eyes goodbye) - the difference is huge. The downscaled version is playable, but not that enjoyable. ( If I don't find a nice 1024 set, I think I'll end up editing Phoebus set into 12*16. But that should be a lot of work...

Added: Ok, on the second thought, there's no way I'm converting it into 12*16 (
