Do traps force enemies to dodge? Cause then you could build a bridge with glass traps 10z levels over a desert and force enemies to jump off.
Yes, this is how to use glass traps if you want to kill invaders (who aren't immune to traps). There was another thread on glass traps a month or so ago where a highly elaborate version of this concept was implemented. It could apply magma, water or spike pit to invaders who took the "dodge me" bait.

Congrats, Psieye. This is the first time I've seen a derailed thread get put back on the rails.

A bit of anecdotal evidence regarding the lethality of glass traps, my wife built some large serrated glass blade traps, and I watched them mulch goblin ambushers. That may have been due to the relative lack of armoring, though.

My guess is that if she had a save from immediately before the goblins showed up, and savescummed and let them walk through the traps over and over, reloading each time, 9 times out of 10 the goblins would do no more than dodge and gain skills.  The glass raws are initialized when you load up either the game or the fort (i think its the game itself, cant remember), so most of the time maxedge on glass is abysmally low, but occasionally is on par with steel or better.
