I have been through quite alot of seasons, and I still have 7 dwarves, and no migrants AT ALL have came, and I really need more people in my fortress so I can get things done faster. And help or advice?

Which then, in your opinion would have more of an impact? Trading, or a Dwarf Civilization neaby? I am quite new to DF, so I dont know many of these things.

You are probably in a extinct dwarf world, congrats! (meaning the 7 dwarves you have are the only ones left)
many people wish to be in your position.

No matter what, in the first few seasons migrants should come, they're scripted to do so. Tho i think having an extinct dwarf world sorta denies that script.

Anyway, what would a dwarf city look like on an embark map?

Bring up your |c|ivilizations screen and tell us what's there. If there aren't any dwarf civilizations listed, then they're extinct.

Clearly they're all too busy being hot in the arena to migrate.

The first two waves are hard-coded, so even if your civ was dead, they would still come.  The game should pause/center on them when they enter your area (unless you've changed something so the game doesn't do that).  It sounds odd that you've never gotten a single one tho. 

I have no idea if it's possible, but it seems that the # of immigrants is also tied to your Fortress Wealth, so if you start out the first year or so by doing hardly anything in your fort (other than a bit of farming/brewing), it's conceivable that far fewer immigrants would come in the first two waves.  (No idea if this is possible, but it would make sense).

I've done absolutely horrible on some of my fortresses, and as such only got 1-3 dwarfs from migrant waves; I managed to get 20 after 3 years.

I've still got migrant waves though, is there a large gap between the dwarf-goblin ratio? Maybe they're too busy defending to bother with you?

Sounds to me like you've got a wonky script, my advice would be to transfer your save files to a temporary location, delete your DF and reinstall, then try from there.
