I find my refuse stockpile and fisher tend to overflow with turtle or muscle shells...

:o

Muscle shells?

Sorry, it was the first thing that came to mind  8)

Just try it! Its not like you die IRL if Urist McMiner falls into magma.

Since creating an aboveground aqueduct, I'm seeing a steady catch of turtles and lungfish. Still no fishing underground, though the fish still blink at me, taunting me.

Maybe I should dump magma on them and dig them out.

Just a guess, I would think that any body of water counts just the same as any other; that they all draw from the same invisible pool of fish. If you're out, you're out. But I'm just guessing. You might try building that aquaduct, and witness the result firsthand; a little science.

No, each biome is seperate, which is why you get odd messages like "there is nothing to catch in the volcano" because a dwarf was fishing in a pool in the same biome as the volcano.

Interestingly enough I've discovered that fish caught with 'capture live fish' order die eventually while out of water and it seems afterward they become raw 'fish'. Which do from what I've seen end up used as food.

I probably will make a subterranean aqueduct, just to do it. It's currently not as pressing an issue as an overabundance of food, though.

I've seen cave fish in my dwarfputer mechanisms.

In a closed system supplied by an aquifer!

Dwarven economics are still in the experimental stages. The humans have told them that they need to throw a lot of money around to get things going, but every time the dwarves try all they just end up with a bunch of coins lying all over the place.

Feel free to ask me any questions you have about logic/computing; I'm majoring in the topic.

Everyone knows that fish grow from spores, rapidly age through their entire life cycle in ten seconds, then die and dissolve into more spores.

I can see the future of dwarven computing...

Urist McForumgoer "Yea I tried to get one of my humans to go out to the corner store during a snowstorm, but he only wore one sock and one glove and died from frostbite."
Urist McMessageBoarder "Ha yea I get that sometimes too, it's a known carp, it will be fixed eventually.  For now you just assign their gloves and boots twice.  Anyone know when the next update to Slaves to Beardok: Human Household will be?"
