Stopping Ambushes

Ambushes are a fun idea, but they're awful on my frame rate.

1.  If I turn off invaders in the init file, will that stop ambushes?

2.  Is there any way to end ambushes without turning off invaders?  Maybe altering the raws without a regen?

you could simply set up a patrol of military units around the borders of your map
that should reveal any hidden ambushes and relieve your frame rate

Or just make the skin of any species of invading civilization distinigrate on contact with the air through the raws.

While adding magma to anything will make it dwarfy, adding the word "magma" to your post does not necessarily make it funny.

A world without enemies has no invaders.  I am not sure about how to do it on PURPOSE, but when messing around with genning custom worlds I constantly end up making worlds with no goblins, maybe someone has some more concrete advice on that aspect.   If you can manage a custom worldgen that reliably gives you a world with no goblins you can leave invaders on so that you still get your uninvited guests crashing the party.

Well you could just delete goblins from the raws and that'd make sure you never get goblin ambushes. Needs a world regen.
