So, Long (or at the very least, boring) story short: I got back after a two weeks away to find that my computer no longer seems to work.

When I boot it up, It gets up to the "Loading Windows" screen with the flashing orb things, then the hard drive stops spinning, pause for a sec, reboot.
Startup repair just sits there for half an hour, then tells me that the problem is I don't have an internet connection.

I've disassembled and reassembled the thing a few times, With varying arrangements of new and old parts, and I'm fairly certain that it's windows that is fucked, not any of the hardware.
I'm going to try to repair from the installation disk. Failing that, Reinstall I guess.


Dammit, My thinky-box done not connect to my typing-things well good enough. This post was a good three and a half hours poorly spent.
